Hawa ke saath saath, Ghata ke sang sang!
This is the feeling I have whenever I swing on my jhula. The other one is, “Pankh hote to udh jaati re”.
Can’t fly like birds, but at least can enjoy swinging on swing, singing my favorites songs. My own jhula at my home, was a long awaited dream, and I finally bought it last year.
This desire of mine comes from my childhood memories. Every naagpanchami, lots of jhulas used to get hung on trees near my home. We had to stand in a queue for our turn to swing. Two of us would swing at one time, one would sit n the other would stand. It was more fun swinging in standing position. The ladies near by used to sing songs in Marathi. It was so soothing, cool breeze flowing with the swing and the songs. Oh I feel Nostalgic!
In that same month of Saawan, we used to have dabba party in the farms. The fresh organic vegetables and fruits plucked from the plants tasted so tasty. And then bathing in farm houd (water tanks with huge pipe) was another fun. To end it, we used to return home on bail-gaadi (bullock-cart). Those were the days!
I eat my breakfast mostly on my swing. Also reading books tucked in cozy, comfortable cushion is lot of fun. My kids n I swing on it, singing songs and nursery rhymes. It is one of the best time I spend with them.
